From 6 April 2011, there will no longer be a default retirement age of 65 as the Employment Equality (Repeal of Retirement Age Provisions) Regulations 2011 comes into effect.
Employers - if you would like to protect your company against claims involving age discrimination relating to the retirement of employees, then our lawyers at Kervin & Barnes Solicitors can help. We can advise you on policies and procedures, how to implement retirement dismissal (especially now the default retirement age has been removed) and how to carry out daily employment operations in order to avoid potential pitfalls of the new retirement age provisions.
If you're an employer facing an age discrimination related claim (perhaps involving the retirement of employees), you can turn to our solicitors safe in the knowledge that they are extremely experienced in matters concerning retirement related age discrimination and having acted for both sides of age discrimination relating to retirement claims, have the advantage of being able to anticipate/prepare for the other side's actions.
Employees - if you feel you've been subject to age discrimination in relation to retirement, then speaking with one of our expert lawyers will help you decide on the best course of action to take. Retirement related age discrimination is a specified field and requires lawyers with experience and expertise gained from consistent case handling.
To get in contact with us for more information in relation to the law surrounding retirement ages, please call us on 0203 178 5361. Alternatively, click here to contact us by another method. We have offices in both Mayfair and the City and would be happy to meet with you at either location to advise you on your employment matter.
