We have considerable expertise in advising senior executives on whistleblowing and detriment suffered as a result of making a public interest disclosure at work.

Recent examples include:

• Advising a trainee GP on making a qualifying disclosure following concerns about health and safety and risk to patients;
• Assisting an employee draft a detailed grievance and advising on the employer’s failure to comply with the contractual obligation to investigate and promptly deal with the grievance. Proceedings were issued and the Tribunal found that the employer’s failure amounted to a ‘qualifying disclosure’ under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998/Employment Rights Act 1996;
• Litigating on unfair dismissal on the basis the real reason for the redundancy was in part a protected disclosure (whistle-blowing).
