After many months of speculation, the Government’s formal response to the consultation on Resolving Workplace Disputes has finally been published. The proposed reforms, which would bring about significant change to employment law, place an increased emphasis on workplace mediation and early conciliation. The main proposals are to increase the unfair dismissal qualifying period from one year to two years in April 2012, levying fines on unsuccessful Respondents, and to introduce a concept of “protected conversations”. We will discuss the pros and cons of the proposals and help navigate you through the reforms to ensure that your organisation is prepared for what is claimed to be the biggest shake up of employment law for decades.

We are sure there will be lots to talk about.
